Pecos County
"Weiss's images are memorable, in part, because of their elegantly provocative surrealism, but, above all, they continue to resonate with us all because of the sheer suggestion of insistent memories that they stir up in the human soul." - Roy Flukinger, Harry Ransom Center, Chief Curator
The compositions in this series are influenced and inspired by my experiences growing up in West Texas, combined with the lingering impressions of that culture and geography. Each photograph combines separate images, all charged with emotional textures and threads of imagined short stories—stories that have no beginnings or endings.
